August 18th, 2009 by Rob | Filed in Travel Size Products

Travel size deodorants are an essential part of your travel size toiletries for holidays or camping trips but these mini size deodorants and anti-perspirants can be really useful for everyday use.

Typical travel size deodorants come in a range of mini sizes from a handy 45ml or 35ml, down to an ultra slim 25ml for some of the ranges such as Nuage Anti-perspirant.

The 45ml and 35ml ranges of travel size deodorants make them a perfect size to slip into a bag for the gym, or even to keep in an office drawer or a laptop bag. These are a really nifty travel size products that you can keep on hand virtually anywhere.

The 25ml travel size minis are even more versatile as they are around the size of a marker pen, so will slip comfortably into a handbag or jacket pocket.

Most of the major manufacturers and brands are represented in these travel sizes with Nivea travel size deodorants being available for both men and women but ranges such as the Dove travel size deodorants mainly catering for women and the Sure travel size deodorants aimed at men. However, there are other niche ranges such as the Insette clubbers body breezer deodorant sprays that are aimed at the nightclub goers who like to stay fresh whilst having a good time.

So travel size deodorants are a really convenient size for a whole range of uses and not just as part of your travel size toiletries.

Travel Size Toiletries

August 10th, 2009 by Rob | Filed in Travel Size Products

Travel size toiletries are becoming a more important consideration when packing suitcases for travelling away on holidays these days. If you want to use any of the budget airlines in particular and take carry on luggage only, it’s imperative that you conform to the current airport security hand luggage restrictions and pack only travel size toiletries that are 100ml or less.

Whilst travel size toiletries are becoming essential for travel by air they are also innovative space savers for holidays by any travel means. When it comes to saving space and weight in your luggage travel size toiletries really come in to their own.

Most of the travel size products are around 30ml to 50ml, with some coming in 20ml or 25ml minis. So compared with the full size alternatives of 150ml or 200ml the space and weight savings of using travel sized toiletries means you have got that much more room and weight allowance for all the other travel essentials for your holiday.

Camping is one of the activities where using travel size toiletries can really be a major benefit for the planning of your camping trip. Especially if you have to pack everything into a rucksack and carry it around for days on end when you’re hiking from campsite to campsite. Anyone who goes camping and hiking will know that saving weight and space in their rucksack will make for a much more enjoyable experience.

Although anyone engaging in outdoor activities such as fishing, cycling, canoeing, rambling and such like would benefit from taking some travel size toiletries along with them for the comfort and convenience alone, given the pocket size nature of most of the products.

Travel Bag Size stock a wide range of travel size toiletries from the major brands at very low prices, with orders placed before 6pm being dispatched the next working day. In fact depending upon the timing of the collections for delivery most orders for travel sized toiletries placed during the morning are dispatched the same day.

As more and more of us take exotic holidays and travel to far off places, it is becoming more important to be aware of the potential dangers of mosquito and insect bites and how to prevent them.

We all know how uncomfortable and “itchy” so called mild bites are along with their red inflammation and swelling but things can actually get a lot worse. So now, more than ever, as climate change brings new species of biting insects into areas that we would not expect, prevention is certainly better than cure!

So the question is – How do you prevent Mosquito bites?

August 4th, 2009 by Rob | Filed in Festival Guides

Visit the Thai Festival at Greenwich Park, 8th & 9th August 2009!

If you’ve never been to Thailand before, it’s well worth taking the time to travel to Greenwich Park to see what you’ve been missing.

Greenwich Park, the oldest of the Royal Parks, will host its second Thai event on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th August, when the Greenwich Park Bandstand will be transformed into a beautiful Thai village.

The festival will open with a parade of elegant Thai dancers from the St Mary’s Gate (Greenwich Park main entrance). Thereafter there will be a whole host of typically Thai attractions, from sampling a range of authentic Thai food from some of London’s best Thai restaurants to Thai dancing, martial arts, Thai boxing, authentic Thai massage and a Buddhist ceremony. If you are unlucky enough to miss the opening parade, there will also be contemporary and classical Thai dancing on the main stage during the event, along with live traditional music by The Thai Music Circle in the pavilion throughout the day.

So if the delicious tastes and smells of exquisite Thai cuisine are your favourite or you simply want to try something new, visit Greenwich Park for a taste of Thailand. As an added bonus, your ticket also includes entrance to a prize draw to win a return flight to Thailand.

The Thai Festival will be open from 11am to 6pm with tickets priced at £5 at the entrance or buy in advance online for only £3. For more details visit Amthai Festival.

Do something different with the kids this summer holiday – Visit the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta!

August 2nd, 2009 by Rob | Filed in Travel Guides UK

How do you keep the kids occupied during the school holidays without having to spend a fortune? Where to find free activities for children (and adults) is always a challenge when you need to keep the cost down.

If you really want to try something different this year why not visit the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta! It runs from Thursday 6th to Sunday 9th August 2009 and best of all it’s FREE ENTRY.

However, as very few of us will be able to walk to the event you will have to pay for parking. But the top tip to cut down the cost is to book in advance and pre-pay online (here) where charges range from £7 for a car and £14 for a minibus or camper van.

The mass balloon launches are scheduled for 6am and 6pm on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday so you have two opportunities per day to get the full benefit and excitement of the hot air balloons getting under way.

The rest of the festivals events include displays by the EXIT, RAF Falcons, and Royal Signals Parachute Display Teams, the Royal Marines Band, the Red Arrows, Avon Fire and Rescue, Lee McCrory Yak 54 3D Aerobatic Display and flypasts by both Navy and RAF aircraft. It is worth checking the full schedule to see which day is best for your visit.

If you are going to be on site for the dawn or dusk balloon launches you may want to make sure you use insect repellent as these are the times of day when the insects are more active. Also, don’t forget to be Sun Aware and take your sun lotion with you.
